Strategies
are approaches that the organization will take to accomplish the
mission which drives the vision and then followed by goals that are
in line with the overall strategy.
An example of a strategy is to pursue a new worldwide market in
Asia.
Sample Strategies:
Sustain a Learning Environment and Leadership continuity by
providing responsive, worldwide training and development services
for all employees to accomplish the organizations mission, vision
and values:
-
Expand
customer base by enhancing the business by pursuing multimedia
opportunities.
-
Deliver an
award-winning level of journalistic excellence, building public
interest, trust and pride.
-
Provide
vigorous community leadership and support.
-

internal and external excellence in customer service.
-

recognize each employee's unique contribution. Achieve the
highest standards of quality. Improve financial strength and profitability.
Goals and
Action Plans:
After you have developed the key strategies, goals should be
developed enabling the strategy to be accomplished. To
effectively plan a goal it is suggested to use this guideline called
ASMART: which means all goals have to be Aligned, Specific, Measurable,
Achievable, Realistic and Time-based.
Once you have set your goals through the ASMART guide,
the development of actions should be defined in order to accomplish
each goal.
The action plan needs to be detailed in order to
integrate the individual steps into your planning system. An
effective planning system could be a computer, a
paper and pen system, a handheld Palm, this will keep the
action plans on track.
Organizations, whose employees understand the vision, mission and
goals, enjoy a 29 % greater return than other firms?
